Press Release:

“GEMBALLA racing” to enter two McLaren MP4-12C GT3s in the 2012 motorsport season.

Motorsport commitment is the next milestone

The new “GEMBALLA racing” team of GEMBALLA investor Steffen Korbach will be competing in the 2012 motor sport season with two McLaren MP4-12C GT3s. With this step, the world-famous and respected car tuner from Leonberg, Germany, has set yet another milestone in GEMBALLA’s history for its 30th anniversary.

Steffen Korbach has called upon Sascha Bert, the well-known racing driver and instructor, as team manager for the motor sport involvement. In the course of his career Bert has stood on the winners’ podium at the 24-hour race, for example. Korbach had this to say about it in Frankfurt today: “Sascha Bert is an absolute pro and is ideally qualified to manage our new racing team.”

Korbach continued: “We deliberately went for the McClaren MP4-12C GT3 for our motor sport commitment, because we think the car has enormous potential to be among the season’s leaders. Together with a renowned deployment team that’s already won everything in sight and exceptional drivers, we obviously want to drive to win. Racing is in our blood.”

The team and drivers will soon be announced. “GEMBALLA racing” is intended to underline GEMBALLA’s racing expertise. GEMBALLA has been synonymous with high performance, reliability and extraordinary qualities for 30 years.

Fifteen years after the McLaren F1 GTR won the world famous 24-hours of Le Mans in its debut, “GEMBALLA racing” is now entering the lists. In this respect the McLaren MP4-12C GT3 has top notch technology at its disposal. A wing-door vehicle with a huge rear spoiler, the car has a 3.8-l V8 twin turbo engine, carbon safety cell, new front splitter, optimised air vents at the front and a large diffuser at the back. The steering wheel with integrated display is an ode to Formula 1.

The new “GEMBALLA racing SE” is an independent company headed by GEMBALLA Supervisory Board director Marco Marquardt and will be devoted exclusively to motor racing.

The GEMBALLA brand has been a global name in the performance improvement and modification of mainly Porsche vehicles as well as the construction of own-brand vehicles based on body shells for some 30 years.

GEMBALLA has made a name for itself as one of the most extreme Porsche tuners and has received worldwide attention with its modified Porsches such as the GEMBALLA Avalanche, based on the Porsche 911, or the GEMBALLA Mirage GT, based on the Porsche Carrera GT.

Recently, to mark the 30-year market presence of the GEMBALLA name, GEMBALLA unveiled the GEMBALLA TORNADO, based on the Porsche Cayenne, and the GEMBALLA MISTRALE, based on the Porsche Panamera. Both vehicles have over 700 HP and are strictly limited for purchase to only 30 selected customers. More information on this at www.gemballa.com.

GEMBALLA will be entering the 2012 motor sport season with “GEMBALLA racing” and two McLaren MP4-12C GT3s.
